Our Mission

Why Your Support Matters

“Your child has a brain tumor” are very shocking and terrifying words for any parent to hear. Surgery may be needed right away, followed by daily trips to the hospital for radiation treatments and chemotherapy. Physical, occupational and speech therapy may be required and treatment can continue for several years. In the midst of all this chaos, life around the family continues. Siblings need to go to school and be cared for and the bills need to be paid—even though parents must take time off from work, often without pay. Some parents must give up their jobs to meet the grueling demands of their child’s treatment. It is an extremely difficult time for the family.

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation - Georgia Chapter is dedicated to providing assistance to children with brain and spinal cord tumors and their families. The Foundation’s mission is: to provide financial assistance, social support, and information for families of children with brain and spinal cord tumors; fund research projects that improve treatment options and search for a cure; and raise public awareness of the disease and advocate on behalf of children who are affected.

The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation offers support to children and families in the form of:

  • Information and education
  • Financial assistance
  • Networking for parents
  • A quarterly newsletter
  • Social outings
  • Educational scholarships
  • Year-round emotional support for the entire family
